Folk Museum

The Folk Museum is situated in Plaka, Milos. It was founded in 1967 by the Society of Mileans in Athens and is rich in artifacts, which are related to daily life on the island since the 17th century onwards. The main purpose of the museum is to show visitors the daily life of people during that time, their eating habits, clothing and leisure activities.
The report is divided into several rooms. Downstairs is the main room of the house, which shows the economic and social situation of the family. The room with the loom is where all of the family clothes were manufactured. The kitchen and the cellar also served as warehouses. The fireplace had a central place in the home and there were no separate bedrooms, except one, the arch where the couple used to sleep.
